In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic struck the developing world in many ways. It infected and killed hundreds of thousands of people (India, Bolivia and South Africa are only three of the examples) and the lockdowns disrupted existing health and education programs and the ensuing economic crisis is worsening the situation.
